Humans plant the papaya tree
They plan to eat it all the time.
They eat it when it’s short.
Until time changes everything
After some years, it sheds most of its long, tiny leaves.
Leaving a unique design on its trunk.
No one can reach it or use a stick.
Time makes humans unable to climb the papaya tree.
Within a short period, it becomes very tall.
As high as a giraffe’s neck.
Its fruits become food for the birds alone.
Time really changes the papaya tree.
Physicians say it’s fruits give us vitamins A, C and E.
Dieticians add that it reduces heart disease
Health researchers have confirmed that its black seeds and leaves boost immunity and help to lose weight.
We all need one in our gardens.
