Success: God’s Definition

Success!

Success is a person, some say.

It’s interwoven in the Almighty God.

A loving Father in heaven who gave to all men.

We don’t see him because we don’t know or welcomed him.

Success is a relationship with God.

It spins limitlessly when we submit our lives to God’s Word.

Failure!

Common antonym for not being successful.

Generally used as a synonym for something wrong.

Mainly connected to mistakes we all make.

Captioned as the wilful error we cannot avoid.

Nicknamed Satan’s tool for depression.

Stigma for people who misuse their talents

Associated and tangled with laziness.

Victory!

Famous is the opposite of failure.

Reputed to mean the same as excelling.

Mostly implied progress in one area of life.

Talked of as the only way by some.

How many have obtained it? Uncountable.

Is it a brand name for those who use their gifts?

Intertwined with productivity, many argue.

Prosperity!

It is not dependent on material possessions.

Human intellect or career profile doesn’t define it.

It’s not based on family or marital status.

It has little to do with societal or political influence.

It’s not entirely connected to human efforts or thoughts.

It’s commonly tied to financial or economic growth.

It has no link with a healthy lifestyle.

Success Bible Verses

Genesis 39:2-6

The LORD was with Joseph so that he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master.

When his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD gave him success in everything he did,

Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned.

From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the LORD blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph. The blessing of the LORD was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field.

So Potiphar left everything he had in Joseph’s care; with Joseph in charge, he did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate. Now Joseph was well-built and handsome.

Joshua 1:8

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”
