Once upon a time, there was a bird family that lived in a big tree deep within the forest. Mama and Daddy bird had a little baby named Twila. From the moment she hatched, Twila had a strong desire to fly out of the nest. She promised to be obedient, but was that all the time.
In the first week, Twila attempted to fly but ended up tumbling onto the leaves below. Mama Twila was worried and advised her to wait until she was a month old before going on a flying adventure. However, Twila’s curiosity about the forest was hard to contain.
Was Twila obedient to her parents?
Although she seemed to understand Mama’s advice, Twila couldn’t wait. In the second week, she took flight again, but this time she landed on a sturdy branch. Still, she wasn’t satisfied. Daddy Twila came to her rescue and cautioned her gently. She promised to be more careful, but couldn’t resist trying again.
In week three, Twila left the nest once more. Unfortunately, she landed on a big stone and hurt her legs. Mama and Daddy Twila were upset and worried. They brought her back to the nest and warned her once again. This time, Twila truly understood the importance of listening to her parents.
Finally, in the fifth week, Mama, Daddy, and Twila embarked on a flying journey around the forest together. Twila felt joyful, knowing she had been obedient and patient. It was a thrilling adventure, and Twila learned that sometimes it’s best to listen and wait for the right time.
Bible Verse: Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.”
If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth.
