Sarah's visit to Seme beach hotel

Seme Beach Hotel: Discover Cameroon’s Finest Resort

As summer approaches, many travelers eagerly anticipate their vacations, often seeking the serene ambiance of beaches. Personally, I find solace near any water body—be it a lake, river, or ocean—the freshness of the air and the soothing sound of waves offering unparalleled relaxation. Thus, my recent visit to Seme Beach Hotel – a resort in Limbe, Cameroon, promised a perfect escape.

Situated a short trip away from Buea, the journey to Seme Beach hotel was as much about the destination as the experience. Found along the picturesque coastline of Limbe, this resort beckons with its promise of tranquility and natural beauty.

When you board a car or drive down the well-tarred express road from Botaland to Seme Beach, you’ll be thrilled by the beauty of the natural vegetation. The greenery is stunning, and I always enjoy the freshness of the air in this area.

My arrival and first impressions of Seme beach hotel

Upon arriving at the expansive entrance to Seme Beach hotel, I was greeted by the staff who courteously requested a fee of 2500 frs for admission. While I initially hesitated at what I perceived as a steep price, the eagerness to unwind overshadowed my reservations, and I paid, receiving a receipt in return. To my pleasant surprise, the receipt entitled me to a complimentary small bottle of soda, which I promptly redeemed for a refreshing orange drink.

Exploring the Resort

As I ventured deeper into the resort, the lush greenery and well-maintained pathways guided me towards the sandy shores of Seme Beach. The beach itself was a breathtaking sight—stretching along the coast with gentle waves lapping against the shore.

A few lounge cemented chairs dotted the beachfront, inviting visitors to relax and soak in the tranquil atmosphere.

Additionally, there are semi-cabins featuring wooden benches, ideal for family gatherings, work retreats, or social picnics.

Activities and amenities at Seme beach hotel

For those inclined towards aquatic adventures, Seme Beach hotel offers various water sports and activities.

Swimming in the clear, cool waters was a rejuvenating experience.

I spent nearly two hours basking in the warm water, swimming and cooling off from the heat. This remains one of the best beaches I have ever visited. The water was exceptionally clean, free from debris. The coastline gently sloped into deeper waters, perfect for swimming. I enjoyed the sensation of the soft black sand beneath my toes as I strolled along the shore. It’s a beach I look forward to visiting again as soon as possible.

There’s a beach volleyball court on one of the grassy fields and another inside a pool-like area. Equally, I saw many guys playing soccer on the sand. There could be many other opportunities for lively recreational activities but I didn’t ask.

Seme beach hotel also boasts facilities for picnics and barbecues, perfect for families and groups seeking a day of fun and relaxation.

Dining and lodging at Seme beach hotel

After a day of sun and sea, I recommend you go to the hotel’s dining area, where a menu of local delicacies will await you. I didn’t eat there because I was in a hurry to go back to Buea city, 50 minutes far awy. My suggestion is for you to order freshly grilled fish, a specialty of the region. Pair it with steamed plantains and a side of spicy vegetable sauce. The culinary delights will complemented by views of the sunset over the Atlantic Ocean, creating a memorable dining experience.

I regret not staying at the hotel. This recommendation would have been perfect if I had photos of the rooms. However, given the resort’s high reputation, I believe the accommodations are likely to be comfortable and well-maintained. It might be pricey, but that would depend on your budget.
