Valleys

Deep down the valleys, we all think there’s no life.

There’s life everywhere.

In some valleys there are herbs.

Others have small streams and reptiles.

Though no one wants to stay there, it’s a place everyone has visited.

Both the dead and living have valley stories.

Some have been more than 10 times in their lives.

We all must go down the valley at some point in our lives.

Whenever you are there, don’t doubt your God.

Job refused to curse God, as his wife advised him in his valley days.

Whether we like it or not, valley days will come and go.

They are temporal testing days for our faith.

If you are in the valley now, choose Thanksgiving over a complaint.

What do valleys mean in the Bible?

Valleys are used in the Bible to symbolize the places some people lived. God directed some to live there, while others lived there for safety. They lived there only for a while. No matter what you are experiencing today, remember that it will not be forever. You are victorious even in that trial because God is good.

Psalm 65:13

The meadows are clothed with flocks
And the valleys are covered with grain;
They shout for joy, yes, they sing.

Joshua 17:16

The sons of Joseph said, “The hill country is not enough for us, and all the Canaanites who live in the valley land have chariots of iron, both those who are in Beth-shean and its towns and those who are in the valley of Jezreel.”

Judges 18:28

And there was no one to deliver them, because it was far from Sidon and they had no dealings with anyone, and it was in the valley which is near Beth-rehob. And they rebuilt the city and lived in it.

1 Chronicles 12:14-15

These of the sons of Gad were captains of the army; he who was least was equal to a hundred and the greatest to a thousand. These are the ones who crossed the Jordan in the first month when it was overflowing all its banks and they put to flight all those in the valleys, both to the east and to the west.

Judges 7:8-12

So the 300 men took the people’s provisions and their trumpets into their hands. And Gideon sent all the other men of Israel, each to his tent, but retained the 300 men; and the camp of Midian was below him in the valley. Now the same night it came about that the Lord said to him, “Arise, go down against the camp, for I have given it into your hands. But if you are afraid to go down, go with Purah your servant down to the camp…

Joel 3:14

Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision!
For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.

Why should you be calm in the valley?

Ezekiel 37:1-14

The hand of the Lord was upon me, and He brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of the valley; and it was full of bones. He caused me to pass among them round about, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley; and lo, they were very dry. He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord God, You know.

Joel 3:1-2
“For behold, in those days and at that time,
When I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem,
I will gather all the nations
And bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat.
Then I will enter into judgment with them there
On behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel,
Whom they have scattered among the nations;
And they have divided up My land.

Luke 3:4-5

As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet,
“The voice of one crying in the wilderness,
‘Make ready the way of the Lord,
Make His paths straight.
‘Every ravine will be filled,
And every mountain and hill will be brought low;
The crooked will become straight,
And the rough roads smooth;

Psalm 23:4

Verse Concepts
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
